Shouldn't be berling fillets in there Monte. You gotta berl da whole fish, less the guts. Need the heads in there for sure, not just the fish, but the scrimps. That's where all the good stuff is. Still sounds like you did a good job. Next time, go the extra mile, include da heads. You'll notice the difference.

trade you a box of chocalates for a box of shrimpOriginally posted by FlatoutFishin View Post
So Thursday afternoon, at the dock in Maty, feeling half lit and worn out after 2 days of fishing and...whatever. I'm approached about buying 40 lbs of deheaded, fresh off the boat 12-16ers for $4 a pound.
Long story short, Friday for dinner... boiled shrimp, Saturday for lunch...boiled shrimp. Sunday...more boiled shrimp. Monday...shrimp gumbo for dinner. Today...shrimp gumbo for lunch. Now I just had what was left of the boiled shrimp mixed in with spaghetti sauce bell pepper and onion....I'm done. NO MORE SHRIMP FOR THE YEAR!
That was the best shrimp gumbo I've ever tasted though!

Im screwed! You'd been proud..I actually boiled the shrimp shells(and two trout filets) for 6 hours with onion, garlic, and celery to make the stock for the gumbo Sandy! Rave reviews from my wifes work.Originally posted by coachlaw View PostYou CAN actually eat too much shrimp and get iodine poisoning. True.
