I just got a call from Jamaica Beach City Hall advising that the tides could be four feet above normal tonight through Monday morning.
That should really scatter the fish.......
Hope everthing stays on the dock until tomorrow morning when we can get it all off of there. Thanks for the info Kenny. I was hearing it wouldn't rise until Sunday.
From 1970-1997, true heaven on Earth existed on the banks of Bayou Cook. "Hey Dad, Thanks for buying the Camp."
Yes it was! The fishing just died off today too. Thursday night I fished the lights in the Jamaica beach canal system. It was like a sand trout nightmare. We must have caught at least 30-40 sand trout. I think we bagged 3-4 decent specks, and had a nice fight with a couple keeper reds to finish the night. We went to the pass the following morning and couldn't even get a bump. Got a speck and some more sand trout last night, but it really died off last night and today. Overall a good weekend in my opinion nice weather and a lot of activity. This morning wee really just had a few inches before the water cam in over the dock. I wonder what tomorrow will look like.
Going to be interesting tonight. We are planning on staying until tomorrow morning, hope we can leave the island!
Mike,
Before you and Donna leave can you give an update on the tides in the canals. If it gets to crazy, I may need to check on the boat. If tides go over 6' I need to be concerned. I appreciate it buddy.
as of 1130 am sunday the tide is high but not over the pier in bayou vista. it's been higher 3 or 4 times over the last month. i'll post up if it gets unusually high.

If it smells like fish....you know I've been there!
Probably combined with the high tides we already were experiancing, and another smaller disturbance that was near the Bay of Campeche and has drifted Northward i'd say yes.
