Not for MJ-there is a special exclusion for guys in red yaks!!! (so long as he don't get caught). ha Ha.
"Hey Hillary, regarding the Benghazi Attack on 9/11-we'll just blame it on that movie, not my total lack of security. By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. BEAUTIFY AMERICA, RUN OVER A LIBERAL, THEN BACK UP AND SEE IF HE'S DEAD.

I'm trying to figure. What difference does it make how they are taken. As long as it is a leagal method, taking 2 fish is taking 2 fish.

At least I could be selective in my harvest but I can picture in my mind, the shoreline is covered with baited hooks and thousands of Flounder are being "Catched & Released", mortaly wounded, to sink back to the bottom for the crabs. kind of like a trail of undersized Red Snapper behind a party boat, only Flounder don't float so it's outta sight and outta mind. All this is happening because the people that are willing to work for only 2 fish are going to make sure the fish they take are going to have heft to them instead of setteling on two 14 inchers.

I think the reason may be that the no gigging thing is happening is because TP&W is testing the response to no gigging and then do away with it all together if there is no opposition.

Know one can argue why I can't take to selectable fish by gig while the rod and reel can.

Remeber. If you argue it is because I am only going to take big breeders I am going to argue back with the mortaly relesed fish by hook line searching for big breeders.

          Bring it!

You have a point! While Gigging, at least you can measure up what you take before sticking it. With rod and reel, you may injure some juveniles until you get to the ones you want to keep. Thanks for the insight, but who was the ban on gigging intended to slow down? recreational fisherman or others?

Yep. I can definently see this, especially since people traditionally let flounder take the hook deep when fishing for them.

What gets me is that there is going to be a lot of culling going on where people are keeping their 2 fish in a do-net or stringer and switching them out as they catch larger ones. Stressing out and injuring a bunch of fish just to keep a few big ones. Culling = greedy.

And I'm sure there's going to be no shortage of people just outright keeping as many as they want. There was plenty of that before, and it's gonna be even easier for them now.
