        My first painting

Nice job and I like the idea of a lighter frame color. Would look nice at my canal home.

        Thanks for sharing.

          My first painting

Kenny pegged it, as he so often does. The sky is great! The highlights around the rims of the clouds remind me of a myriad of sunsets down here. I don't even mind the bright colors of the water; It's the reflections that are off. Great first painting. Keep it up.

Looks good. The only thing missing is my picture with a big trout, red, flounder at the end of my rod. Just joking. Very nice for the first one. It will only get better with practice. Bet even Picasso started like that. Keep up the good work. Lord Bless.

I'm going to have to agree with Sandy, I'm no artist but I know what I like and don't like and I too would hang this on the wall. Kenny though does have a point about the reflection once you look at it some, but I don't think it distracts from the overall work. Good job on your first attempt!!!

Graduate school architecture reviews were tough...but one did get lots of feedback. For a first painting its great. Put me back to being on the beach for dawn patrol. Very good in that respect. In addition to kenny very astute observations.. i'd look at the texture and layering in the clouds. they look a little too dense.

I'll disagree with Kenny on the ocean color, I get the sense of ebbing and swelling of the water from how you applied those colors. I do agree with Kenny on the reflection study and frame color, though I've chosen frame colors that compliment both the painting and the other colors in the room. Keep on painting!
