Alright guys, it's early but it looks like I'll be out there along with Gilbert on Saturday. Gilbert's bringing his boy out too. 7 year olds are a trip, so I'm lookin' forward to it. Hopefully they can have some good father and son time out there.
TMO can probably make it Sunday and regardless of what happens with the thing on top of the house which shall remain un named at this time, we have to get more done on the Ghost Camp. I look forward to hauling home another load of debris. Those garbage men have had too long a break from it.
If anyone else can make it in any capacity, here are the projects on going that kind of need to be done soon.
We need to finish the back porch. It's mostly just cutting boards, and nailing planks down.
I have a new door to replace the temporary wall that seals off the missing room from the rest of the camp. I'd like to install it and it's going to take some carpentry to get that done. It's a nice door in the case.
Explorer21 did most of the hard work, and I picked it apart a bit, but there's just a little left ot taking down the old generator shed. We need to clean off the salvaged wood of all the nails.
We need to through bolt some pilings to the frame of the camp. I have the bolts thanks to the old generator shed.
Then of course there's the Ghost Camp. Lots to do over there if you're plucky. My new boat is the perfect debris hauler too.
I'll be leaving Angleton around 10am with Gilbert right behind me. If anyone can make it, you know it would be appreciated. I plan on working starting at 5pm to sunset, then a good dinner. Sunday morning fish from daylight to 8am, breakfast, then we'll work from 9am to noon and break for the heat. From 1970-1997, true heaven on Earth existed on the banks of Bayou Cook. I'll be there, doing what I can and look forward to it.
Shall I bring cases of beer or beef?
I also have a Yamaha ef2400is inverter genny that really needs to be run.
I picked it up in preperation for Ike but the power was back on within
about 15 hours so it's hardly broken-in and it needs to be used before seals
and such dry-out. It's super quiet and sips gas...pretty sure it can handle the stage lights on one and a half gallon all night.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FBLbrJxGtro

Yes! You bring that generator. That will be perfect for the lights. However when you go home, it will look different. It will look like a Coleman Powermate, but don't pay that any nevermind. You just run along home with it . . . . . . . . These aren't the droids you're looking for. Now move along.

If Mikey can get my little Honda out, we'll have a cool and quiet evening all around. We'll put yours on the lights and mine on the A/Cs.
By the way, if anyone plans on catching fish under the lights, it's virtually impossible without live bait right now. So bring your scrimps or minners.
Perhaps I can put 2112 on the dinner detail while we work 'til sunset on Saturday. Sure would be cool to get to the camp and have a meal ready after chunking debris around. Then he can go out and stick some after din-din.From 1970-1997, true heaven on Earth existed on the banks of Bayou Cook. "Hey Dad, Thanks for buying the Camp."

Ok, I'll bring the genny. Do you have a cord for it?
How about 2 cases of Bud, the red stuff and I can spring for a couple of packs
of Sirloin steaks.
The list can get pretty big, I'll call you about it.
If I come alone I'd like to have another with me for the night hunt.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FBLbrJxGtro

Sounds good Bert. Give me a holler tonight.
Coe, we've got a camp potty. We have 3 beds, a blow up mattress, and an extra mattress that can go on the floor. From 1970-1997, true heaven on Earth existed on the banks of Bayou Cook. "Hey Dad, Thanks for buying the Camp."
