I am going to be staying at the Galv. Is. St. Park for a week starting this coming Sunday. I plan to wade and kayak fish. Since my kayak is motorized (goggle "Mokai" if you've never heard of such) I'm assuming I can't launch it at the park. I am assuming that if the wind is out of the S, I can kayak up and down the lee side of the island and be safe. I have light spin and bait casting rigs.
Questions:
If I can't launch my kayak at the park where would be a good place to launch? Its too heavy to carry very far. West end Marina?
As long as the wind is not outrageous will the lee side of the island be OK to explore w/ my kayak?
Most importantly, how should I fish? What lures? Bait?
Does the tide matter? Are there any general strategies for how/where to fish the rising/falling tide?
any tips/info greatly appreciated!!
