I couldn't agree more!!!!!! While I didn't get to fish during my stay in Roatan, I heard it was off the chain. My family is consistently asking to go back. I am talking the kids ask at least once a quarter! CHECK IT OUT EXPRESS! We stayed at Fantasy Island. All Inclusive.

I gotta say that I feel that the island of Roatan Honduras is a better honeymoon spot than Costa Rica. You can fly direct now from Bush. Hired a guide there who put me on the bone fish and the permit. The place is still pristine as it is not as "commercial" as Costa Rica has gotten. YOu really should do your self a favor and check it out before finalizing any plans...small place on the beach, no hotel, you're own guide, walk in and fish...wife has tons to do as well

I honeymooned in Grand Cayman back in the 80s. Great diving, turtle farms, nice people.....to bad I was with that beeach I married. Had it annuled when I got back. She tried to tell me when I could play with my toys. BIG MISTAKE!

The west side is a great place with little shops for the missus. Snorkel, Dive, Fish, or just go hang out on the beach. Can't beat that with a stick IMO.

In addition to the resorts you can also rent a bungalo right on the beach. http://www.roatanrentals.com/
Remember here though you buy groceries, cook, cook your own fish whatever you want...and rent a car. Really depends on your style of what you like to do.

Hire a guide when you get down there and DONT ask the resort people. There are some locals who will guide you on the flats for bone fish and permit...and let me say catching a permit on the flats is one of the greatest fishing expeditions I have ever done.

Thats awesome. I do like the bungalo idea, cooking your own fish etc... But on the other hand i want to be wine aand dined lol I want to go on a inshore trip like your pics above and then go out and catch a big arse fish also.... My worry is paying for a place, getting there and not be satisfied with the conditions.... I want a beachfront resort, being located somewhere near different restauraunts, somewhere i can rent a moped and ride around and sight see , somewhere with bars to explore, and fishing adventures and of course somewhere to snorkle. lol O and we kinda wanted to do a badarse zipline somewhere
