Hey guys my honeymoon will be in October. Wanting to go somewhere tropical and somewhere we can fish, snorkel, ect.... Anyone stayed at any resorts or places that was badarse??? Thanks, Jon

Costa rica is good for tarpon and roosterfish. Also some of the smalller bahama islands like bimini have great fishing.

A group of a dozen divers (led by me and the wife) went to Glover's Reef in Belize. It was without doubt, an adventure, fantastic diving, and fishing.

We had rented out Manta Resort, but there are other more comfortable places to stay, though Manta was quite romantic and nice.

I gotta say that I feel that the island of Roatan Honduras is a better honeymoon spot than Costa Rica. You can fly direct now from Bush. Hired a guide there who put me on the bone fish and the permit. The place is still pristine as it is not as "commercial" as Costa Rica has gotten. YOu really should do your self a favor and check it out before finalizing any plans...small place on the beach, no hotel, you're own guide, walk in and fish...wife has tons to do as well

I was gonna say Akumal, but it's a little rough. I'd head further south to Belize as some of the other guys recommended.

I agree with Bruce-check out Akumal-direct United flight to cancun (fairly cheap flight), rent a car for a week in cancun at airport (hertz/Avis-book here through website), 60 mile drive south. Many condos with full kitchens on beach-laid back, decent restaurants, but somewhat limited and extremely reasonable prices. Check out akumalvacations.com for places and prices. Cheap charters and great snorkeling.

I been going there since the late 80s and ithas grown a bunch but still very laid back.
