We have decided... Going to the #1 resort out of 185. Secrets of maroma i belive its called. Located inbetween Playa and Cancun.Staying 7 nights and going on 2 fishing trips for sure. One fly fishing sight casting for tarpon, ect and the other trip will be for the big daddys, wahoo, baracooda.

Thats good, congrats. But you wont find me in this country, especially on a brown beach for my honeymoon. lol

Just go to San Luis and pitch and tent. That way she will be happy with the anniversary trip to Galveston, which of course you will spring for a standard hotel room.

Don't set yourself up here for years of extravagant vacations. Have fun..

The bungalow called LARA's DREAM is amazing...you can walk out on your own private beach and fish...little snapper all over the place and they taste amazing...

Thats awesome. I do like the bungalo idea, cooking your own fish etc... But on the other hand i want to be wine aand dined lol I want to go on a inshore trip like your pics above and then go out and catch a big arse fish also.... My worry is paying for a place, getting there and not be satisfied with the conditions.... I want a beachfront resort, being located somewhere near different restauraunts, somewhere i can rent a moped and ride around and sight see , somewhere with bars to explore, and fishing adventures and of course somewhere to snorkle. lol O and we kinda wanted to do a badarse zipline somewhere

In addition to the resorts you can also rent a bungalo right on the beach. http://www.roatanrentals.com/
Remember here though you buy groceries, cook, cook your own fish whatever you want...and rent a car. Really depends on your style of what you like to do.

Hire a guide when you get down there and DONT ask the resort people. There are some locals who will guide you on the flats for bone fish and permit...and let me say catching a permit on the flats is one of the greatest fishing expeditions I have ever done.

The west side is a great place with little shops for the missus. Snorkel, Dive, Fish, or just go hang out on the beach. Can't beat that with a stick IMO.
