  • 2009 Fish West End Redfish Tournament

    What do you all think??

$40/ person (up to 2 person teams)

    % pot payout (TBD)

Dates: Please list dates that would work remember we have to avoid Galveston Redfish series, Bounty Hunter's War Memorial Tournament, Lutes Marine schedule and Xtreme Redfish series...(any others I left out) (SATURDAY or SUNDAY)

This will be open to anyone! Guide included!! This is for serious anglers.

Boundaries: Same as West Bay Slam Tournament

Time: 6AM - 3PM must be in weigh-in line by 4PM at the latest weigh in will close at 4:30 or earlier depending upon the line of angler waiting to weigh-in

Location: TBD (Possibly Avery's Bayside Cafe in Sea Isle) --- It was a big success for Slam Tournament

Please post ideas of dates, venues for weigh-in etc...

Sponsors will be asked if they'd like to participate in any way. Hopefully we can get some cool products...

Maybe we can have Thomas or Kaylin post up when they are free and those will be our dates

I think it would be fun to do it on a sunday....

Fewer things to compete with (like individual activities) and others on the water

Since it will be a FWE tourney

Monday is Labor Day...once you move to Sept 18-20, with football season and dove season in should see less folks on the water. Avery's is easy with the docks right there for the weigh in and food/service/etc...they get my vote. I know Jerry's tourney met there as well it looked to me like it went real well. I'd ask him his thoughts as he's run a few.

Yeah Avery's turned out to be a great venue, weigh in had to be conducted upstairs but perhaps with more notice they could accommodate us in both spots for ease of weighing in the fish.

Teal Season you won't find me fishing until after 10AM and 4 teal in my bag

September is really screwed for me and early October I'll be bowhunting. Late October could be a good time, with cooler weather.....

I'm thinking later October as well... the dates for Saturday / Sunday in October are... 3rd or 4th, 10th or 11th, 17th or 18th, 24th or 25th and 31st or 1st of November...

I'd say Halloween is out... October is a good month for me because Teal Season has shut down before Big Duck.

My vote is for the 17th, Sundays aren't good when you need to be to work at 6AM Monday morning.......

So you never fish on Sunday's Bounty? I find that hard to believe. There are less people on the water on Sunday mornings.
