  • Final Tally Fundraiser for Shriners

With the help from all of the sponsors we were able to raise a significant amount of money for Shriners Hospitals for Children - Galveston. The tournament last month was a great success despite the less than ideal weather conditions presented to the anglers many came out for the weigh-in, awards, opportunity drawing & live auction!

Special thanks goes out to Brad Murrill with Redfish Capital Management for his help in underwriting this event again this year! I really can no longer put on this type of event without his help. Brad, I appreciate your dedication & work ethic and look forward to working with you again in 2013.

The total amount that was raised & that is being donated is $6,872.72

Our goal for the 2013 Redfish Showdown & Fundraiser is $10K!

Congrats to all the organizers, participants and Sandy, for selling all those raffle tickets.

Thank you Coe, Sandy and Brad and the SPONSORS!! I appreciate my new rod made and donated by Randy-really nice work by him and look forward to my 1/2 day trip with Steve Soule!!

Those raffles are fun and I enjoy spending money on them even if I don't win any prize since it benefits an outstanding charity.

You SPONSORS are the greatest-giving your time and money to such a worthwhile cause-I certainly appreciate the kindness and will utilize your services before any other company/person providing the same service since you have a big heart and provide such goodwill.

Thank you all involved in running the event!!!!! You folks are gold.
"Hey Hillary, regarding the Benghazi Attack on 9/11-we'll just blame it on that movie, not my total lack of security. By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. Awesome!! Glad I was able to help and look forward to doing it again. You and Brad along with everyone else really make these great things happen.

As some know I work full time at the airport and I saw a Shriner there waiting to pick up a kid coming in for treatment. I had mentioned that just the weekend before we had this tournament and he graciously said thank you. At the same time a lady was walking by, she stopped, turned around and somewhat choked up she said to the Shriner "Thank You! thanks for everything you guys do, you saved my daughters life! With tears in her eyes she said without yall we dont know what we would have done" She then gave him a big hug! That exchange truly brought the reality of what events like this really mean!
