I fished in moses lake near the mouth today and caught 4 small but keeper trout. I wasnt satisfied though because i could tell there was a lot of fish in the area because of slicks and distressed baitfish. The problem was, i wasnt sure how to fish lures in 10 ft. deep water with current. Does anyone have any tips on lure selection and how to fish them in 10ft. deep water with current? Please dont mention live bait.

I'll be there in the morning. I guess I'll try 1/4-3/8 oz. jig heads. Were all of the fish holding in deeper water? Did you try fishing any edges for reds?
I work just enough to pay for my fishing habit.

Heavy jighead, cast up and let it drift back with current. I had all my fish the otherday on paddletails do to the abundance of shad and finger mullet in the bays now. Other thing to remember, when there are slicks present, the majority of the time, its from feeding on shad and not shrimp, so match what's present.
      Don't be a Nancy!
If it smells like fish....you know I've been there!
