  • 6x9 Speaker Covers

I have a nice little stereo we put in our boat, and are wanting to get the best life out of it and the speakers as we can. The CD player is already acting up, but I usually use an iPod anyways, as the CDs always skip. But, as for the Speaker, I rinse them out with non-pressurized running water but was thinking that a cover wouldnt be a bad idea. They are 6x9 marine JBL speakers mounted on the sides of my center console.

    Any ideas?

I had 6x9's in my old CJ, put mud, sand and pressurized water through those and they held up fine. How open is your CC?

what in the world would i want a stereo in a boat for? To me being on the water and having the chance to fish with my friends and being able to have quality time with them is what fishing is all about. The the silience you experience is why I love fishing. I understand if you are talking listening to capt mickey, monitoring channell 16 or two way with a compadre fishing other spots. Hey I apologize for the comments now that i realize i am just an old fart that is set in his ways. Tell you what You Rock out with your cock out and just have as much fun as posssible. When i hear you motor by blairing and stairing when you drive by me while I am wade fishin I will not shake my head in dismay but remember the days when I had the loudest stereo on the face of the earth. Lifes a trip enjoy the ride Fish On!!!!

My stereo is in a cooler I made... I remove it when fishing and but when running around just enjoying being on the water its always in there with IPOD hooked up... Although I can't hear it above the roar of the engine.
