I think you may have joined after a few of us put some items together to get this young man fishing. Go look back at Walker's posts it was great to see him so excited about all the goodies we put together.
Awesome, Walker your doing a great job with that young man. I see he is still sporting the sticker and such, love it. Hope all is well on your end sir.
Yep - that tackle box and all of its contents came from Henrique's uncles at FWE.
Land crabs: pretty nasty. Some locals eat them, but only after feeding them a diet of milk for a couple of weeks. Henrique wanted to catch some, but did not know how to catch them without getting pinched. I showed him on a couple and he was on the way. We let them go later - just catching to have some fun. Playing with a 6 year old can be a lot of fun.

Those land crabs are pretty colorful,I bet they'll pinch ya!
You have no idea how they pinch! We were at a bar on the south side of the island one night and there was a big one cruising on the sand along the bottom edge of the bar. I - being a fearless dumbass - reached down and carefully grabbed it from the back.
And it grabbed me. HARD.
I slung my hand, breaking the pincer off. The crab body was gone, but the pincer did not let go. And I couldn't pull it off. I mean, that sucker was on me like vise grips. We got a key and pried the pincers apart to get it off. I was bleeding big-time.
I now know how to pick one up. You stare it in the eyes, make it blink by calling it's mother a whore, and you simultaneously grab both pincers!
