Confused today.

Can someone point me in the direction to the rules for posting? All of a sudden I seeing posts about members being banned and if you dont follow the rules etc. Im not trying to be a smart AZZ or anyhting but I want to make sure i dont fall into that trap as I am opinionated at times. I have seen some pretty reckless posts in the past and thought from the content all was fair in love and war.

The biggest issue I have is people posting threads about a banned, missing member, a thread that was deleted etc. They should be using the PM feature. If you have a question as to why, then send me a PM. You may get a response you may not but either it's up to me to either respond or not. You can contact any moderator too. Sometimes I'm not able to check FWE for a couple days. Yes, I have a job that doesn't revolve around fishing so excuse me if I check out for a couple days here & there.

Like others have said we give you a heads up and let you know when you start acting "out of line". Sometimes is so obvious the only course of action is suspension. We've only had to ban 2-3 members here. I hate it each time but most of the time the person did or said something during our correspondence that warranted us not removing the ban / suspension. Either way it's up to the admins. If you are banned, you are not allowed to re-join the site. We can track IP addresses it's very easy.

If you feel the need to divulge information publicly that was held off the board for a reason, we will suspend your account.

Another issue... I don't make money on this website, a lot of people think I do, some even think I should.... well I don't. I don't care to, it's not a source of income for me and have never thought of it as such. I do this for fun & the minute it stops being fun I have no problem flipping a switch. I don't take advantage of y'all so don't take advantage of me, the website or the moderators by trying to make money off this website.

With that being said we have a 0 tolerance rule against posting items for sale that you build yourself, make, assemble or whatever. This includes boats & boat parts, services like welding, a wood table that you've built 6x, a fishing light you sell on the side, crab traps you make... Whatever it is. We classify it as advertising.

The Garage Forum is for PERSONAL stuff that you own and wish to sell. It's not for dealers or people that flip boats etc.

If you want to advertise ,you should be a sponsor. Especially if you want to do anything mentioned above. We don't tolerate it. Call it being overly protective of our sponsors but you will not hear one of them complaining because it's to their benefit. We value those that support the site. It's $25 to be a sponsor for a month. Please don't insult my intelligence and tell me you just lost your job and things aren't going so great. I know all too well the ups & downs life can thrown but if you can afford the internet then what are you doing moaning to be about $25.

I see members continually that come on posting up that so & so built me something or blah blah blah on here does great work. Well good! I'm glad you’re happy. Tell him or her to sign up as a sponsor. If you post that info & they are not a sponsor you risk us having to remove names & companies from your original post.

If you bring your love life or former love life onto the WWW please don't expect to be around for very long. That's all I'm going to say on that subject.

We have had this discussion before but you responded in a pm so that tells me your hiding it from the FWE members and sponsors. My members and me pitch in every month for the dues of our website and it is really nothing. So how many sponsors do you have?

First of all my books aren't open to anyone. I've never shared them. Regardless that's private information because I sink personal income from a primary source into the website. Do you carry Insurance for 6 events you host during the year? All of which have alcohol involved? Do you donate Tens of thousands of dollars each year to different 501c organizations?

I'm glad you have her number/ contact information. She seemed like a nice lady but I can't have her & her ex-husband soon to be divorced fighting it out on the website. It's inappropriate. After 4 warnings & 4 different usernames it became tough to deal with.
