We started on a reef in Jones as the sun came up. Lots of bait and lots of wind.
Jeremy hooked up with a nice fish and lost her before we could get a look. We both got multiple blow ups, but only hooked up once with a 15 1/2" trout. Made a run to Greens and it was full of boats, so contiued to Karank and fished for about an hour with no takers and ran to the marshes in Greens. Found one trout (2nd place). Ran from there to a couple of spots out of the wind and Jeremy found a small flounder in a cut off of the diversionary. Headed back out to Jones, but the water was nasty and the whitecaps didn't look too inviting, so we pulled the boat out and headed to the SS line. We jumped in and waded a cove. I got a huge blow up, and then some kids that were sitting on the rocks jumped in and waded out to my fish and caught her before I could. Looked to be about a 22"-23" red. Jeremy caught the 2nd place flounder and we headed to the weigh in.
In all, we ran about a 3/4 tank of gas (9 gal) out of the boat, and it ran great all day.
Congrats to all the winners. It was a tough, hot day out there!
I dropped the boat off to Mike Hood Marine today to have the stainless prop put on. I got tired of trying to get the old one off.
