Did you guys figure out how to catch them with a net for Sea Center ?

I would love to bring in about 2 dozen undersized flounder (with a permit of course), for breeding.

The small ones are mostly Males.

I could have easily picked up 20 juvenile flounder, when finding them I always turn my gig over and move them and watch them shoot off

Any net that has a straight edge as opposed to rounded should work... You'll need one that has that plastic or coating on it so it won't hurt them.

Thanks for the information Coe, we have been catching a good share of them in the last month or two and most of them are in the 18-20" range. Hoping to find one during the tourny next weekend

Let's go net some! I think the best way would be just push the whole rim of the net down into the sand around them. They should spook, and jump up over the rim and into the net, then sweep it up. You could probably fit a whole bunch of juvies into a livewell. Hope the warden doesn't stop you

I am a volunteer with the Lake Jackson Sea Center, getting a cathers permit would not be an issue, the only problem is, it would only be for me, so others could not gather them without me being there with the permit in hand.

Bryan, since I'm always on the Island do you think getting another permit would be feasible? How much? What do they need out of me etc... You can PM me details or we can talk on phone later tonight.
