  • Blockade Runners this weekend June 26th-28th

Well, it looks like I should be on the water by Friday. I have a lot to do here until then, cleaning up the house for my dad's visit and fixing the Mudda. I'll probably launch Friday afternoon. It looks like TMO is in for Fri/Sat. Anyone else that wants in, just let me know.

Friday afternoon we'll make a run at the Ghost Camp and fill up a truck with debris. Then relax and enjoy the evening. I'm thinking we'll do some ribs on the grill.

Saturday morning it will be time to place a bunch of lag bolts around the camp. It is hurricane season now, and I want to be as ready as possible. Saturday afternoon one more run at the Ghost Camp will be in order as TMO will have to leave.

Sunday I plan on shoring up the dock as well as possible with lag bolts.

If anyone wants to come out, don't worry I make sure there's time for play as well as work. Just let me know. Hope to see some of y'all out there.

I'm going to try to clean up the place as good as possible for the 4th of July weekend. My mentor and old high school coach is coming down for the 3rd, 4th, and 5th to help do some work. My dad is coming in town on the 2nd to spend some time at the camp and we'll head out there on morning of the 3rd through the 5th. I'll be driving him home to New Orleans on the 6th.

It will be good to have Coach Tres, his wife Jennifer, and my dad all together at the camp. Tres and Jen got a room in Surfside, so they won't be around at night, but dad will be roughing it with us.

Looks like I'll be able to make it. I'll have to work out the logistics with TMO. Give me a call tomorrow Coach.
I work just enough to pay for my fishing habit.

            I'm in like Flynn.
Thank you Sandman for the invite.
Tide for friday evening looks like it will be falling from an extended hi begining around 7pm but the early morning bite looks to coincide with a good incomming that reaches its hi Saturday morning around 9:30am.
I wish my gigging conditions looked as great as the rod and reel stuff but I will take what is offered. I should have little to no moon and calm winds so that will help but I expect off colored water with the outgoing tide Fri night and one cannot poke what one cannot see.
I am predicting 15 respectable fish between two men!

Bert, No need to ask permission bro. When I post up these invites, they are for everyone. Sure there's work to be done and that scares some folks away, but I try to make sure there's fishing getting done as well as work.

Just so everyone knows, you are always invited if we're out there. The place isn't much right now, but we're workin' on it. At present we have 3 beds, a mattress that goes on the floor, a blow up mattress, and a sleeping bag. Don't worry about there not being room. If it's full, just bring a sleepin' bag and find a spot. Lurefisher and dbarham enjoyed sleeping under the stars last weekend. Just let me know you're coming via phone or PM.

We don't have too many rules out there. One is that you act in a responsible manner. It's easy to get hurt if you're not careful. It's fine to have more that a few, but don't get too sloppy. I'd say the biggest rule is don't be a jerk. It's a place we go to get away, and the last thing we need is bad feelings from someone being belligerent. Just don't be that way. Also, we appreciate it greatly if you are able to pitch in, whether it's helping us do big projects, donating materials or beer or food, hauling off a load of trash, or just cleaning up a little. We want it to be a place where all FWE members can enjoy just being out there. Everyone that comes and joins in makes Blockade Runners a better place.

We should be launching Friday around 3pm. Anyone want to join in, let me know. We plan on having the lights out on the dock Friday night.

If anyone wants to go, I plan making a run out to the short rigs out of SLP early Saturday morning if the conditions hold. I can take 2 other people along with myself.

I plugged your number in Corndog. Man, when were you there? I'd have towed your butt around no problem. My dad won't be there until the 3rd, but yes you can have more than a few with him. I haven't even begun to tell the stories about the group of guys that called our old camp home back in La. Man, talk about some characters.

Someone needs to come out and go with 007. I'm skeered to go offshore.

                      TMO said he would go.

Note: I will NOT go if conditions are less than ideal.

Well TMO woke up with a knee about twice the size of his other one full of fluid , one more pleasant reminder of what happens when you dont take your gout medicine..... Mike, I will still come get you and drive you down but being that I can barely walk, I am not going to be able to walk up stairs much less crawl on a boat. So, I am screwed. I will give you and Sandy a call herer in a bit, I am about to go into a meeting.

I've got a snapper venting tool that will take care of that knee.
