  • Billy Stix Custom Rods

Highly considering purchasing one of these custom rods. Does anyone have one that can give me some feed back. He supposedly builds them to your fishing needs and how you fish...

I've got a waderstix lite that is my favorite. It weighs nothing. Pm me and we can hook up and you can try it.

I've got 3 of them, 2 baitcasters and 1 spinning. They're beautiful and light and strong. 1 of the baitcasters is my wife's and it's the best wading rod I've ever seen. If you've never seen or used a spiral wrapped rod, talk to Billy about the advantages.

I like 'em they are nicely wrapped. Almost so nice that you don't want to fish with 'em but that doesn't stop me from dirtyin' them up LOL.

Good solid rod. Good craftsmanship & good shipping. He's a nice guy from Florida. He was a sponsor on here for last 3 years not sure what happened to him, we never could link up on e-mail or phone.

You should also take a look at David Cunningham in Surfside (www.texasrodworks.com). He builds a dang nice rod & stands behind his product.

If you can get him to call you back.... We had some stuff we were trying to work on & he dropped off the face of the Earth.

That's the only drawback....I don't think he's very "tech savvy". He doesn't have voicemail set up on his phone, so if you don't catch him, you have to keep calling. I always get him, but I may have to call 3 or 4 times first.

Yeah tough to get a project off the ground when you operate like that. Nice guy though knows what he is talking about & can wrap real well.

I have 2 one for a baitcaster and 1 for my spinner. I love these rods and don't know how I got along without them. I feel the lures going through the grass, bump off the bottom. I though a 14 1/2" trout was at least 22". the rods are very light and do not wear you out.
