Notice for Bin Roll Back and Roll Out Services - Pirates Owners Association
The City of Galveston has changed the way trash is collected. They are discontinuing the one man trucks with the arm that picks up the bins in
favor of trucks with two men who load the bins onto the truck. What this means for subscribers is that City trash collection is starting later and taking longer to accomplish. They are starting in our communities very late in the day. Frequently after 5 pm. The late start and fininsh means that not all bins can be rolled back on Monday as has been the past practice.
If your bin is still on the street at the end of the day on Monday, please do not be concerned, it will be rolled back early Tuesday morning.
Also since the collection is taking place so late on Monday the roll out service can now be done on Monday mornings well before collection. Rolling the bins out on Monday morning will give those leaving on Sunday more time to fill the bins before they are rolled out.
If your bin is not rolled out or back in the time to which you have become accustomed, you have not been skipped the City's new collection method is just forcing us to modify our roll out/roll back schedule a little.
