  • Charter Boat Recomendation

Hey guy's, it's been a while since I have posted here. We have been working on changing over our
business program here a AAA Storage. It's been a mess, to say the least.

Anywho, I am planning on taking the wife down to the Island for her B-day comming up next month.
Wanna get a charter for us to go out and have some fun near or inshore. Not too excited about fishing
the jetties or the bay, would like to get out a bit and get something other than the usual bull reds & trout.
Is it red snapper season yet?? Used to have a blast in Fla at that time of year, don't know when it hits here.

Any suggestions on a decent charter, that's not going to break the bank, would be awesome and
highly appreciated. We're looking at a full day, for four people. She wants to bring her son and his wife,
eve though she does not deserve to go anywhere, the lazy non-working so&so...

Thanks guy's, hope all has been well with all of ya'll.
    Have a great day.....

If you want a small charter (less than 20 people), then BlueFin in Freeport is it. Runs around $190/person.

Thanks for the info, I guess I should have said, "Want to leave out of Galveston, and only 4 people going".
Don't like party boats, too many ppl. Private charter for my wifes B-Day. I have seen a few there based in Galveston,
but I don't know how they operate, who might be better that another that is. While Freeport might not be out of the
queston, overall miles and time is also a factor. ONly have one day off darn it, to do this venture.

Thank you all for your input...

Snapper Season was from June 1st to July 10th for state and Federal. I think it was exstended 6 days to end Midnight Monday July 16th. This was for off shore if I'm not mistaken.

I think you will find better charters in Freeport than Galveston since deep water is closer. Expect around $1100-$1500 for the charter. I would plan on amberjacks, ling, kings and if ya go far enough, maybe some wahoo or blackfin. It doesn't sound like ya wanna go out that far, but since no snapper allowed, I'd try for AJ's and hope for a wahoo.

By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. INCORRECT!!!

Texas has a year round Red Snapper season in STATE waters... up to 9NM.

I suggest Cowboy Charters out of Freeport. Captain Mike Jennings is fantastic. Just look him up on the net. You won't be sorry.

I would consider a FWE Blue Fin Charter........ Probably will need to bring my kid. He had a great time last time.
