Well Dang, work has gone and changed my plans once more. Not getting off early Thurs and I have to come in Friday morning. Sure wish I wasn't in debt or I'd tell them to stick it, they have been trying there best to kill me the last few weeks.Pro Staff - Bounty Hunter Turbo Buzz, Creme Lures, New Pro Products, & K9 Fishing Fluorocarbon

Guys, It was a massive success out there the last 2 days. As soon as I got to the ramp with 007, ChuckC drove up and introduced himself. I had met his brother before, but I had never met him, and he had never been to the camp before, but wow did he work his butt off. Thank you Charles! My teacher buddy Frank was there as well and we set off to Blockade Runners to gather tools and such. We then set out to do some damage to the ghost camp. That we did. Having 3 guys upstairs throwing stuff down for me to haul had me busy from the very beginning and I could barely keep up. 007 did his usual bang up job and Frank and Charles kicked some butt too. Frank had to leave at 4pm, but Charles stuck around for a very late lunch of BLT's, then headed off to try to find some fish. While I was cooking, I asked Mike to put out the flag, which he hoisted to half mast in honor of Glen. I thought that was a fine touch from a guy who works so hard to be a bad guy sometimes. He decided we'd keep flying that flag, though I have 2 new ones now and I'm ready to retire the original. He said that was the flag Glen knew and we should fly it at half mast for one month in remembrance of him. What a guy. It really touched me that he thought of all that. After the meal, 007 and I went for one more load.
Right after sun down, 2112 (Bert) showed up and we headed to Blockade Runners for a dinner of pork loin and some serious front porch sittin'. 007 fell out around 1am or so, but Bert and I hung out until 4:30 and we hit the sack just as 007 woke up. I don't know what all transpired between then and noon, but I know Mike and Bert went out and found some fish, even in the poor water conditions. Mike brought home a trout he had gut hooked and Bert and I had fresh trout for lunch. It was tough getting everyone going for another round at the Ghost Camp.
Once we got there, foreman 007 looked like he caught his second wind, busting up things like crazy. Bert kept throwing me things down, then he came down to help me haul it all to the boat. What a load! Our trucks full to bursting, reinforcements arrived around 4pm in the form of TMO and his buddy. I got brought back to the camp to clean up and button things up while they made another debris run.
Once I had everything cleaned up and locked down, I found a place on the side porch where I was in the breeze and out of the sun. I parked my butt there for a good 10 minutes, taking a little time to silently enjoy the peace. 007 got back and I told him we couldn't leave yet because he had to come over and sit on the porch and enjoy it for a little while. It hasn't been often since Ike that I've taken the time to sit and enjoy. It sure was a good time, and it portends many more moments like that once all this is done.
Thanks to Mike, Frank, Charles, Bert, Tom, and his buddy who's name has escaped me. It was a great couple of days and we got a lot accomplished. I know Glen was looking down and proud of the work his boys were doing.
I'm planning on launching Friday afternoon and staying out Saturday and Sunday. Anyone that can come out to help, just let me know. BH, I sure hope you can get off at some point bro. Blackbeard, hope to see you Saturday. Dbarham, I hope you get well soon. Wlgorman, I sure do remember y'all coming by. If you can make it, give me a call on my cell. 979-215-1755. Mudskipper, LMAO! Well put. TMO, hope to see you and Bob on Saturday.
Lurefisher, thanks for the offer, but I'll be at the camp. What do you think about doing a boil there? I got a big pot, but no burner. I'm turning 36, freakin' old man now.Last edited by coachlaw; June 18, 2009, 01:21 AM.From 1970-1997, true heaven on Earth existed on the banks of Bayou Cook. "Hey Dad, Thanks for buying the Camp."

Josh and I might come down Friday afternoon, about what time are you planning on being there to launch? We will need to head back to the house sometime Saturday but you might get a little work out of us.
I'll give you a call if it turns out we can make it down.

Sandy, sorry I didn't set aside yesterday to come out and help. I really didn't think we would go offshore yesterday, which I made an obligation last week to do, and that I would just ease down that way before lunch and help until dark.
As for 007, I kid the chit outta him on here, but you need help with something or a donation of his time, or boat and the guy is always there willing to help. Mike's a stand up guy....granted he's nutty as squirrels breath, but stand up still.
If for some reason your still working on the ghost camp the weekend of the 27-28. I will make it down there then for some kind of punishment.

No doubt y'all. Since Ike, Mike has been johnny on the spot. There is no one who has done more for the place. He drives me crazy from time to time, but I try like heck to make sure he understands how much I appreciate what he does. From 1970-1997, true heaven on Earth existed on the banks of Bayou Cook. Next time I will bring plenty of rubbing alcohol, hydrogen peroxide and fresh bandages and maybe leather gloves to pass around.
I am guilty of getting trashed and getting motivated as charged. "How do you plead, son"
Guilty, but they made me do it!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FBLbrJxGtro
