I tried that but does not last. Any suggestions on a real good abrasive compound? I have tried everyting at Academy and Bass Pro and it still wont get the finish to shine. Its a red and the dullness/oxidation is pretty bad.Originally posted by TroutSupport View PostIf all you need is a couple years... why not just polish it out?
You may look at bottom paint or an epoxy paint ...west marine might be the place to go start talking and find out more.

Me and my kids painted our 18 foot Kenner last year. I paid around 50 dollars for a gallon of marine paint from a little shop in Kemah (You can also order it online http://boats.wholesalemarine.com/ind.../_/N-14n/Ne-rs). We sanded it down a few times and rolled three coats of paint on it. We had a blast and the paint is still on, outside of a few scratches from the dock paint is holding up good.
