Need a little help. I am having trouble getting plane on my 18' CC Cajun. I have a 92 V4 115 Johnson pushing it. Motor is running great but I feel that it takes too long to plane out. I have tried trimming it every which way but loose but still takes 10 to 15 seconds to reach plane. A buddy said that I need to have my prop looked at. 2 questions: Does anyone know what pitch i should be at? and where or how do i find the pitch on my prop?

An add on anti-cav plate like a Shallowblaster can help too. My question is, has it always been this way, or is it a new issue? From 1970-1997, true heaven on Earth existed on the banks of Bayou Cook. "Hey Dad, Thanks for buying the Camp."

............I had the same question. Some of those older cajuns were known to get water in the hull. Maybe you have some extra weight you are unaware of.Originally posted by coachlaw View PostAn add on anti-cav plate like a Shallowblaster can help too. Contact Baumanns! experts, had problems with my larger prop and didnt want to loose top end speed , Baumanns vented the prop, and now I have better take-off lift with less cavitation, its not the best mind you, but I still have a good top speed!little things make a big differance sometimes!!West Bay Sensai...

Like Coachlaw said, Has this always been a problem? Is your boat sitting lower in the water than it use to? It could be a prop problem, but I would think it would have always given you trouble unless you have recently changed it.
