  • Jetty Fishing.??

    Had some basic Jetty questions....
Thinkin bout maybe hitting the Jetty area this Friday..
This will be my 1st venture out there. If I put in at the TC Dike ramp..the ride there
    is not that long...
Do you anchor up.?? Seems like it would be kinda deep for that on the Channel side....
I am thinkin about hitting the Boat Cut area at N. Jetty..
Would I be better going through the Boat Cut & fishing the other side
    where I can anchor easier.??
Have heard reports about free-lining shrimp & Croaks also there...
Any advice from the Jetty experts.???

    Thanks guys,
    Troutfan62....

anchor out away from the rocks and have the wind push you back towards them. freeline, split shot,or corks will work fine. if your not catching fish try changeing spots, the fish are there. mullet and shrimp are what i use most of the time. anywhere along those jetties can be good, look for holes and tide movement. good luck!
the fishing was good,it was the catching that was bad.

On the bolivar side of the jetty is where i like the best, depends on conditions... usually 300-600 yards past the boat cut headed out. You will see a sucken ship or some sort against the rocks. i like that spot.

DO NOT anchor in the boat cut... I will not slow down.

I cant stand the idiots who do that. Anchoring twenty feet from the boat cut then get mad and throw their hands up in the air screaming and hollering. Or someone who flies across a reef when 15 boats are fishing it.

LOL... I went Memorial Day weekend and there was this jack leg in a old pontoon boat parked dead center of the cut just on the outer side.... He acted like it was my fault that he had to reel in when I went through.... So went I returned he was still there so I trimmed up and had a wave going like a wake board boat and once again, he looked upset...lmao O Well... STAY OUT OF THE PASSAGE WAY!!!

Hit the bait shop just before skyline, put in the last ramp on the dike, its open. Cost $5. Freeline shrimp close to the rocks or use poping cork... Drink beer and watch the ships roll in...

Ramp at the end of the dike is open but there is not a marina or bait shop there. Get bait at the shop before you get on the dike.
