Ya'll may know this already but I was unaware until this morning.
Got to Sea Wolf a little after 6 am to wade the pocket. I don't really mind paying a $5 parking fee just for peace of mind from the thieves, but this morning this nice lady told us it would be $18 for me and TTU Wader to fish.
Are you kidding me? I'm not even sure that included parking or not but unless that "wadefishing fee" includes a pint of live shrimp and kayak rental I'm not interested.
She told us it was because the wadefisherman would dirty the bathrooms and leave trash around. Not sure if that's true or not but that was the reason she gave.
Needless to say I will not be back to SWP.
Just wanted to make sure everyone knows about this

Yup, its been like that for a while. You don't even get to use the pier and you have to pay. You'd think that the entry fee would cover waders who litter, as anyone entering the park is just as likely to litter too. Heck, they should charge the bank fisherman more then, since they're the ones who throw their bud light cans and corona bottles around and trash all the launch/wade sites.

Also, most don't know this, but they have shut off the dirt road that leads to the cove S. of the Selma. This is a very popular flounder run wade spot and I'm sure we will hear more from the waders come October.

If leaving trash behind means you have to pay now, how about charging the low lifes who come to the beach in front of Terramar Beach and leave tons of trash????? Of course it is only one of a few access points now where people can actually get to the beach with a vehicle.

What gets me is the excuse the lady told us. The average wadefisherman is not going to have a lot of trash. He's not sitting on the pier drinking beer or cokes, eating junk, and he's not fishing with dead shad or mullet that come in little plastic bags that I have seen people leave laying around when they are done with it.
AND, the average wadefisherman is not going to get out of the water to take a leak he will simply contribute to the regulation of the salinity like every other guy in the water.
So when she says the wadefishermen are causing problems I have to call BS and say that it is the pier fishermen.
But no matter I won't be back. Sorry I'm done venting now
