  • Got a little news

The reason I was at Academy was to get a 7'6" rod to go with my new black max baitcast reel. I picked the tournament Premium as it was 24 bucks and I am on a tight budget as set forth by the rulers of all things money in my house.

I went to Conroe with a friend from work and about the third cast with a 3/8 oz white spinner bait I set the hook on something. When I am fishing sweet water I like to try and rip the face off what ever bites. In the process I heard a dull pop and all the sudden all I had in my hands was a handle and reel. The rod broke right in the meat of the back bone.

So I took it back and picked up an All Star inter coastal 7'6" rod. The customer service rep said almost all the Tournament rods come back broke with about the same scenario.

At first I was kinda peeved. I must have missed ten thousand pound Striper!!!(WOW). Then I kinda settled with the thought now I have a comfortable rod and the CFO thinks I only paid $20.00 for it!!!!!!!

    Lifes Good again!!!!!!!

I just bought one of those as a back up boat rod. I haven't had any problems yet but I'll keep you posted.
I work just enough to pay for my fishing habit.
