  • What kind of Dove is this?

Saw this out in my front yard and had to take a couple of pictures, the last one I have to pat myself on the back cause I had to injun up on him to get it......

What kind of dove is this, I've never seen one like this before. At first I thought it might be an albino whitewing, but it doesn't have the pink eyes.

Thats not one of those chinese doves or something like that. My dad said he had a couple hanging by his house for awhile. I never got a look at them.

Bad pic but the only one I could find. The color is somewhat right but a little different markings, could be due to the sex.

No, I'm looking though. It might just be a mourning dove, if not then its the chinese, laced-necked, or spotted dove. Evidently the last 3 are all the same just different name depending on where you are I guess.

Dang sure isnt a white wing like Einstein(007) said.

What does a whitewing look like then?

White winged, but they can be lighter in color. I think the right is a better picture.

Eurasian collared dove. Exotic species with no bag limit or season. Blast away!

Note the black band on the top of the neck in this picture and the last one you posted.
We have a ton of these things in Galveston. They "coo" like a mourning dove, but they also do this "caw" sound right before they land. Like a crow but softer.

Nope not the same. My son says he thinks it's a ringneck dove.

Everything sounds about right but the one in your pic seems to be a darker gray than the one out front.
