  • Buzzards

They come in many shapes, sizes, and forms. They can be wadefishermen, plugging purists, meat soakers, drifters, moderators, grandpa, pastors, presidents, or captains. They're disrespectful, lazy, and ignorant as well. Their mother forgot to teach them one valuable thing during their childhood...hard work=success...no matter if it's in the work place, goose field, duck waters, bay, or surf. Cutting corners is for bums...just ask the guy holding the cardboard sign at the major intersection.

What is it about a parked boat/kayak with guys out wading that just seems to draw them in?

Why must a buzzard that's running in the middle of the bay do a 1/2 mile swing in to check out the wading line for bent poles?

Why do people ask for fishing spots on an open/public forum?

Maybe someone here can help me figure out why in the hell, with all of Texas' 3+million acres of saltwater bays/estuaries, that this buzzard finds it necessary to pull up within casting distance from me?

If you're having a slow day and in the mood for some entertainment, fake like you're fighting a fish when the next boat goes past to see if they put on the brakes and get up close and personal. On a bad day it's 50/50.
"If our father had his say, nobody who did not know how to catch a fish would be allowed to disgrace a fish by catching him." Norman Maclean, from A River Runs Through It

Have you been pondering these questions since we had that pair of boat owners wade to within casting distance of us yesterday?

I fished with Smacker yesterday, Wednesday... we were on a good wade and had some boat operators pull up within 200 yds of us, they waded across the flat to our kayaks and then proceeded to wade up behind us. I think the only reason they pulled off was because they could hear me vocally b**chin to my cohort.

Don't get me wrong here I've asked for help on this site with fishing spots myself but I also believe there is a certain fisherman's edicate ( no clue if that's spelled right I went to Alvin haha). Its just plain common courtesy and not alot of people now a days have that respect for others as they should yeah its okay with me if u wanna fish somewhere I am but give me space dangit. I've had it happen numerous times, I've lost my cool a couple times but usually I'm just an ahole and cut them off with my casting turn around throw right in front of them lol.

I would imagine that they are too close in-shore, to be safe, if their just a cast away.
I have not seen the shore line here as of yet, but I am guessing there is not any
limit bouys, bouys set along the shore line to prevent boats from comming too close.

I realize this is not Florida, but there, they have these in-place. As I mentioned,
it's a safety measure. Darn Buzzards anyway.....

Man, it is scary to witness how some people's brains opererate. It would make a great paper for a psychology student.

FYI....posting a fishing report can take me up to a hour after all errors are corrected. I had to Google the word psychology.

Because they saw you-get some stealth fishing gear-similar to a gilly suit! I would rather lose a fish than let someone see me hooked up. many times I hit freespool or aim the rod right at the fish. Bent rods are the same as yelling and waving at someone that "Here the fish are-come on in, potlicker".

It happens everywhere. One year I had some guys pull up just outta casting range on s. shoreline of east bay while I was chest deep catching. The two democrats threw their anchor overboard, asked how many we been catching (we dint answer) and we waded east to get away from them-especially since their anchor "PLOP" scared away the school. The saw us hook up about 75 yards away, pulled anchor and ran in front of us again and "PLOP" goes their anchor again. I yelled hey, why not just anchor at our feet next time. They never understood what etiquette means and never will-ya can't fix stupid, so best is try to stay away from stupid even at the cost of moving to another spot and leaving fish. Too bad killing stupid folks aint legal; however, the bays would be loaded with bloated stinkin bodies and you'd be snaggin a democrat on almost every cast. Think Democrat = Entiltlement-you know, the "Obama Way Through Life".
"Hey Hillary, regarding the Benghazi Attack on 9/11-we'll just blame it on that movie, not my total lack of security. By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. BEAUTIFY AMERICA, RUN OVER A LIBERAL, THEN BACK UP AND SEE IF HE'S DEAD.

Ive had guys wade right up next to me while Im catching and i find that a good ole "FARK OFF AZZHOLE DOES IT LOOK LIKE IM GIVING AWAY FREE BEER OR SOMETHING?? GIVE ME SOME SPACE!!" usually works pretty well.

Both times they got a confused look on thier face and turned around and waded off the other direction.
