Hitchcock ramp?

Ran accross a ramp behind police station in Hitchcock. It was on a bayou. Does this give access to jones lake and the intercoastal and is it a good place to launch to fish flats behind greens lake. I stay out of jones because i dont know how to navigate reefs. Went accross it with aqua pimp one time at a pretty high speed and i looked down and we could not have had more than 9 inches of of water undrr us if that. Can anyone help me to understand where you can go from this ramp.

First of all. Paul is right the mouth of the canal entering Jones is shallow in areas. Also, the entire run into the ICW I would only do after fully knowing the route. There are reefs you have to split and if you don't hit them right you'll be on a shell reef waiting for help. The way I run is go out of the canal, hug the shoreline into Harborwalk's channel & run out of that channel into the ICW. If you have a really shallow water running boat then run the shoreline into the HW channel and go straight through the markers & run on the edge of the fishing piers coming out. You will be in between the shoreline & shell reef. CAREFUL it's shallow!

The boat ramp sucks. Last time I was there if you backed down to far you dropped off the end and there was big rocks were piled at the end of the boat ramp just begging for a lower unit... LOL

Don't disturbe my pet rocks! the mouth of the D channel on low tide has sent many back into the channel.
