  • Power Poles

Be carefull using your power pole as an anchoring device while wading, especially in windy conditions. We found a 23' Shoalwater cat drifting in the Chocolate Bay channel and it's owner waving frantically at us from 300 yards away.

    Ummm. WOW....

That would be a site. Catching huge trout and start to head back to your boat. "Wait a minute, I know I parked it over there. Man my wife is gonna be pizzed".

Glad you were able to help him out. Good on you..

Good job rescuing the dude and his boat. I've never had my Stakeout Stik pull out, even in a really hard wind. Of course it didn't cost over a thousand dollars or come with a remote! LOL

Seriously? Scary thought to believe that would act as an anchor...Oh well.

X2, people that purchase these thing believe thats what they are, an anchor. Even though they may be advertised as a shallow water anchoring system that is not what they were originally designed for. This is not the first time a boat has come loose and won't be the last. Clark08 and myself saved a guy last year in west whose boat also got away from him while using a PP. It was all operator error in that the guy misjudged how fast his boat would push with the wind. Lifted the PP up with his remote while wading back to the boat and couldn't catch up fast enough. Good thing we were close by to give him a lift.

I made an artificial reef out of one power pole near SLP. Aqua Pimp waded 150 yards in waders in 10 seconds flat after the Bote once; that's 2 chapters that come to mind.

Chapter 5....... JT takes off with power pole down and breaks off bracket for 2nd time. Chapter 6....... Power Pole bracket breaks while anchored up on reef.....
