JT stated my position-catch & release into grease. If ya catch & release into water, ya may as well spend winters up north killing ducks and geese.
"Hey Hillary, regarding the Benghazi Attack on 9/11-we'll just blame it on that movie, not my total lack of security. By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. BEAUTIFY AMERICA, RUN OVER A LIBERAL, THEN BACK UP AND SEE IF HE'S DEAD.

Except for redfish on the half shell, I throw nearly all my reds back. I happen to like specks better. We also hunt the snook down here by SPI, and often the tarpon come in so we're used to the throw-backs.

Lizard fish - now anything uglier than me needs a chance in life and I'm pretty darn ugly, right?

Mangrove snapper - haven't ever released one unless it was into a hot Fry Daddy.

I wish we had more triple-tail though. Tough call there, I think there are some regulations ... but once I caught a 5-incher on a 6-inch Rapala! Feisty rascals, thems are.

there arent near as many fish as there were 20 years ago.i used to always come home with fish.
the fishing was good,it was the catching that was bad.

I scare the fish so bad they just jump in my cooler, so, kinda hard to release them that way.

All I gotta do is look at them, then act like Im reaching for my rod and SPLASH..... they jump in the boat.

I catch a Six to Eight pounder it's a toss up.

I catch a 9 to 12 pounder...well, that's some genetics there. I'll have my fun catching her and do my best to let her go so that she can spread that good set of genes she has out to help out the fishery. If I were to catch a big Sow I'll either take a pic on the deck or if i have someone with me have them take a pic and let her go....

....and hope someone thinks like I do.

If I want fish to eat I have explosives. LMFAO! Kidding!!

I personally don't keep anything over 25" ansd I do not have a problem with anyone that does.
Large fish do lay more eggs but there are not as many as the smaller ones. Genetic has nothing to do
with the size of a Trout, an 11lb fish is not going to reproduce more 11lb fish. Gater

Odds are good an 11 lb fish is full of eggs so letting it go will definantely produce more fish than putting it in the cooler.

I keep what I want to within the law and throw back what I want to, mostly based on taste. To me, reds are best below 23 inches, trout are best under 20 inches. I rarely keep trout at all, and flounder I give to people that love them, because I find them tasteless. And I use what I want to for bait because I don't buy into the elitism that this thread is based upon. Fishing is supposed to be fun. Don't scraw it all up with stupid debates about how or why you can mess with people and make them follow the rules you think are best. Just go fishing. Enjoy what God has set about for us. Because life is short . . . . too short to worry about the stupid stuff. This is stupid stuff.
