  • Helping out VJER's family

First of all I want to thank all of you so much for your outpouring of love. I was so happy that Vic's son Alex was able to get on here and feel the difference his dad made in our lives. Many of you have asked how you can help Vic's family and I didn't have a good answer until now. I want to thank Coe for his advice on this matter. With his advice, Lynne was able to do this. The people at TDECU were just wonderful. Here is the message I got from Vic's daughter Sarah. If you can help, it would sure be appreciated. God Bless, Sandy

Memorial services for Victor Martinez will be held Saturday, March 31st at 11am at Froberg's Funeral Home in Alvin. The family has asked that in lieu in flowers donations be made to your favorite charity or to the Victor Martinez Memorial Fund. Checks may be made out to the fund and sent to TDECU, 2900 North Velasco, Angleton, TX 77515. Online donations may be made at http://victormartinezmemorial.chipin...tinez-memorial

Sandy, I just made a donation on the website, but I notice that the "end date" of the fundraising campaign is before the start date, so it's not showing any donations received on the website. Hopefully it accepted my contribution.

I hope my little bit helps. Our thoughts and prayers are with Lynne, AJer, and family.

I am in, but I'll wait for an answer on the "end date" issue before I send a donation.

I was talking to Jonathan, GM of the West End Restaurant & Sand Bar. We wanted to do a fish fry / fundraising event in honor of Vic.

I will also be making a donation later today.

I just got back from the family's house. The problem with the donation site is fixed. The donations are not showing up on the goal bar, but don't let that dissuade you. I imagine it takes a couple days for things to go through. I plum forgot to mention the fish fry when I was there. So many things to do before Saturday that it just slipped my mind.

I have to work on the rest of the pictures right now, so I won't likely be back on until much later tonight. If any of y'all use the site to donate, please let me know if it works ok. Thank y'all again, Sandy

vjer was a nice man. he built those boxes that house the tv.s up at the sand bar for next to nothing and they are completely a great work. didnt know him but for the few times i talked to him about those; a real gentleman and i liked him.

my thoughts and prayers to the family and his friends.
