Have any of you ever been out wade fishing and after a long time in the water, had to pee and forgot you were wearing waders for a second? Luckily, I cant stop mine, but did have a little drippage. I am sure I am not the 1st that will admit this?

I had a gator surface 20' from me, look at me then drop back below.

I had the same thing Coe -- I was in halls bayou in about knee deep mud on my knees to keep from sinking and had a stringer full of flounder. Scared the crap out of me.

I had an experience like you guys did.About 15 years ago I was wading the Wildlife Refuge and was about stomach deep,looked back towards the shoreline and he was no more that 20-25 yards off the shoreline.That gator turned towards me and then went under.I did'nt like that.BTW,those gators are out in full force up there.Be careful,especially if your dropping a boat in.This warm weather has 'em on the move.And yes,they will come down those ditches,through those metal pipes and out into the bay.I've seen 'em more than once(they have kept me pinned in my truck more than once also).They're not those 4-5 footers either.

Stepped on a ray in chest deep water-I could feel its tail between my ankles, I jumped up and floated on surface and said to myself "Oh crap, now where is that ray sitting?" and swam about 10 feet and very gently re-touched bottom. Sharks hammering my stringer aint nearly as scary as a stingray in my book.

Yep. If that happened to me I'd be changing my waders for sure!

We had a couple on the north shore line of west last year. Imagine my surprise when I went running for the shoreline to get on that school of reds and up pops a gator, put the parking brake on.

The LAST time I waded, my stringer of over 70 trout got taken by a HUGE shark. I went with it for about 30 feet. I'll never wade again.

FYI - On average, there are over 100 alligators per square mile in Texas. When you consider how much of our Great State is desert, that means there are even larger concentrations in the wetlands.

BTW, I have never peed in a pair of waders, and wouldn't tell if I had.

Sharks are another issue. We pulled in a 5 1/2' shark near the west shore of Pelican Island. Broke off two other lines at the same time...meaning there were several of the beasts in the water in that area at the same time. You wade fishermen can have all of that you want, I won't be in your way.

I once waded out to a feeding frenzy about dusk in the surf only to find out when I get close enough, I see that they are all sharks on a bait ball. Had to be about 20 of them in there feeding on that school of bait.

I have had a few weird things happen to me while out wade fishing.
1) Wading Smith Point; pulled up before daylight throwing top dogs just stung a big trout just as it was getting light out. I kept seeing ripples in the water about 30 yards from me so I kept casting to it... I would get the lure in and the ripples would be about the same distance just in another area... I keep casting in the area of the ripples in the water. Well the ripples ended up being about a 8 foot gator... I said to myself......... Self WTF are we going to do now??? Keep casting
2) Ron Johnson & I was in route to an undisclosed location in an undisclosed bay when a Big Arse gar decided to go into a feeding frenzy between us... Talk about spotting your waders... WOW
3) Same undisclosed bay & location as 2) I walked into what I thought was a school of red after I made the cast into the middle of like I said what I thought was reds ended up being 4 bull sharks that didn't want me where I was so I kindly left them with whatever they were doing...
4) Mustang Island dead man’s cove wade fishing my buddy Mike Register didn't have a stringer so I kindly strung his limit of reds along with mine... The fish were very lively and were splashing around... About 10 foot in front of Mike & I arose a 3 or 4 foot bull shark that was interested in my lively reds... We had about 300 yards to walk back to the truck... This task went very slow & backwards... I told Mike we were OK, he said how do you know we are OK? I told him I didn't hear the Jaws music yet... Once the Jaws music started one of us were toast... I asked him where the keys to his truck were just in case he was the one... Also next time bring your own daggum stringer... LMAO

The most important issue about waders isnt Sharks, gators, Sting Rays , Gar, etc.. but the................

DREADED WADER GAS they develop after a couple of years that you can not ever get rid of. Bleach and fire doesnt work. Nothing works.
