  • Father and two child killed on Seawall

Did any of you hear about the father and his two kids being killed on the seawall Sunday night?

First of all, it is very sad that a person was speeding and more then likely drunk driving on the seawall and killed these 3 innocent people, but can I ask what were they doing on the seawall at 10:30 PM on a Sunday night? The children were 8 and 3 years old, so should they not be in bed????

Believe me, I am more upset at the person who hit them, but it could have been avoided one way or other.

    Just my two cents.

Wow, didn't hear about it so I looked up the article.

That's really crappy. I won't pass judgement on the parents. Sounds like they were headed home, and maybe the kids were gonna sleep in the car... Sometimes those days at the beach go late.

The driver traveled east on the sidewalk of the seawall before slamming into the rear of a four-door car parked on the seawall
    Sounds like he was drunk.

I hate parking on the seawall, I always get as close to the curb as I can (not like it would have helped them). I won't even get out of the car if there is traffic coming in the rt lane. Saving 5 seconds isn't worth the risk of some drunk dude or someone dropping a cig on their lap and swerving 3' to the right and killing me. Always baffles me that I see folks just loitering around on the drivers side of parked cars right next to people driving who's eyes are probably glued on the bikinis walking around

That's why after 61st ST speed limit lowers from 45 to 35 and then 30 as you head East to the bikinis

I agree 100% with you, though its not the kids fault that the guy was speedsing or drunk, the kids parents should have had them at the house not the beach!

I just feel these days you have to pay closer attention to all our surrondings. I feel bad for the mother who lost her family on Mother's day!

The question is... what the heck were you doing at 10:30pm on a Sunday night???? Just playing, I wish I could be sitting at a bar at 10:30 on a Sunday, but it would make for an interesting day at work on Monday.

Yes it is, so it does not help the jerk was speeding and drunk!

Terrible! Hate to hear things like that, but I know what ya'll are saying about being out at 10:30 on the seawall on a Sunday night. Still, too bad.
