If you buy a boat don't you have a grace period of 20 days to register the boat and trailer? I got pulled over last Sunday and was given a ticket because it wasn't registered. Luckily I texted my mom and told her to text me a picture of the bill of sale. Showed that to the cop right before he was walking back and he changed it to a warning. Was a close one.

Alex...you gotta remember that you are dangerous to society riding around with a new bote and trailer, much like the housewife with 3 screaming little kids on her way to the grocery store with an expired car registration that gets pulled over. Id much rather have yall off the road vs those guys going over into the ward investigating drug deal, robberies, thefts etc.

I have no trailer plates on either trailer-one rusted and fell off and I never got "renewal Notices" (have plate but stickers are like DEC 2004)-the other I dint register when I bought the Skeeter in 2008. While gassing at the Valero, the JBPD pulled up and said my boat registration numbers were too close together and he could/would ticket me in the canals and my neighbor was with me and asked "what about no license plate on the trailer?" which about made my heart stop and the JBPD said he dint care about that-whew. So after launching, I docked at my house and re-did my numbers so at least 2" between TX and numbers. Yeah we are trying to register it but there are some issues because it wasn't registered in FL. I got pulled over in Hitchcock. I drove the sob more than 1,000 miles and got pulled over 15 min from my house!!Comment
