Just guessing but the commercial crab season is closed during that time so Im guessing they dont want blue crabs harvested out of a commercial trap. I could be wrong here.

The last time I did it I wore my reef boots and just smashed the traps flat. I ran out of the 2004 bridge and we got 43 traps in one haul in my big Kenner.

You cant keep SC claws if the the Bay system has a health advisory. Saw some guys get ticketed in Christmas. Then the GW stopped us and we asked him and he told us you have to check daily on what is open or closed

The crew from Lakanookie will be running Bastrop, Drum, Chocolate areas either on Monday or Tuesday. I'm gonna see if I can get the aerial surverys before we slide out. Gotta see how the cards are gonna fall before a for sure plan is made. BTW, the annual Trash Bash for Bastrop Bayou will be the last Saturday in March. But wait, there more the annual POINT fishing tourney will also be that weekend, which is a great cause. I can't be two places at once, so I've made plans for the Trash Bash.

Do you have to sign up, or can you just do it if the fishing is getting slow? Thanks

Always want to help but I don't have a boat =( and it would be my first time cleaning them up, so I would have to learn the ropes ...(but I'm a fast learner!)
