This is a good idea, I'd like to see there conceptual drawings, Tiki is a nice area it caters to deep draft vessels as well as your bay and pleasure cruisers, even guides launch from the area... With some capital and a few million dollars you could turn it right around and blow the socks off everyone there on Tiki Island... Then again it could completely back fire because Galveston is not Miami nor is it the Bahamas with the cigar & martini bar.We are West End Anglers, a saltwater tribe!

This is interesting.
I've always felt the plan to build the new marina in Freeport was crazy.
With the marina's in Surfside not making it why do they think a marina farther from the water is going to make it?West End Anglers - You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy.

You gotta love the speculation market, however now with nobody able to secure financing even with 60%-70% cash equity into the deal its tough to even get land transactions closed. We've seen several fall out of contract with more than able buyers due to the lenders wanting appraisals less than 12 months old, pretty soon there wont be any deals being appraised because they won't let anything close!Originally posted by Moonpie View PostThis is interesting.

Well if the city drystack would have went when they "thought" of it instead of 8 years later it might have been succesful, but like you moonpie, unless they do it like 8/ft then I don't think they stand a chance and even at a 4.50/ft discount I don't know that you would get a lot of people, because they think running more then 1 mile to get offshore is crazy. When I had my boat I always launched at the city park, I like it because it gave you time to get the boat ready before you hit the big water, and on the way in it gave you time to start getting stuff cleaned up and put away. That was just me, most or some would rather get it all togehter before they leave. I liked it also gave us time to make sure everything on the boat was up to snuff as well.
