Rod choices are like....well, everyone has one! Good price, and I'd be interested in seeing how those SiC Fuji eyes do. Personally I prefer a med/light with a fast tip and more partial to a shorter rod(6'2") these days, but let us know if you get it, and how it does.
There is also a few dealers here under the sponser section you might want to check out.Don't be a Nancy!

Dang, that is a nice budget. I don't have that much in the rod and reel together! Seriously, I'm cheap so I never buy a rod over $60 but i did buy a nice FTU rod for a little more for the charity auction. I'm afraid the minute a drop a bunch on a rod, I will close it in the truck door or the kids will sword fight with it.
My opinion's like the rest...just my opinion.Scott

A good dog(I presume) or kid is worth more than a rod at any price.Originally posted by WestEndAngler View PostI broke my one & only CCR rod today
I'm looking too..
Sadie somehow got hung up on the lure & line while going home this evening. I accidentally snapped the rod in two about 3 eyes down trying to get her untangled & unhooked.

Don't even let me get started...I'm driving to see my dad in Georgetown and pick up my new rod in 2 weeks. They had it at the boat show and I never made it up there to get it...I believe a lot of people have handled my rod before me, and that's just not right...I feel so abused!

I bought a 6' 9" Tour Star at the boat show. It's a medium light action and has enough flexibility to through plastics and tops. When I took it out in Friday, I tried a number of lures to see how it handled. I was very happy. $160. I have a g-loomis green water that is my other favorite. It's a little more. Cant go wrong either way IMO."Shut up and jerk your croaker" - James Fox

I like the 6'2" part and they've been around...I just kind of like the service I get from either Laguna, Waterloo, and Chucks Custom Rods...all good Texas folks that make quality rods. Chucks in Lake Jackson...drive over and let him show you some of his stuff! In the end...it's about customer service I think....if you're wanting to step up to high end!
Billy makes some very nice looking rods too, I believe he uses a heavier blank, but you want find a prettier wrapped rod that's for sure.Don't be a Nancy!
