Friend of mine sent me this picture of a drug runner boat.

I have seen a picture like that in a liquor store. That is a lot of money sitting on the back of that thing.

Know what the official drug boat of Texas is? That would be the panga boat also called a "longa." They are very light, narrow fiberglass boats with one smallish engine on the back, light enough for 3 guys to pull way up on the beach with little effort. The laws look for them - which is why none of us folks would even think about buying one. They guys in the panga boats pirate our fish, smuggle dope, and sneak humans into the country - some run illegal gillnets on inshore bays too. Only about one in ten is caught because they are so small, little heat signature, hardly any wake, never a radio signal, almost no radar blip.

Them go-fast boats are easy as pie to catch, although the Coasties use helicopters, jets, and 74 MPH interceptors to chase them. You should see some of the interceptors down here by SPI - Border Patrol has the fastest one, only three 350s but it's quick enough. I believe that picture was from Europe when they busted a million dollar load of coke, can't recall exactly. Totally different game, man.
