  • Don't Forget Gas Tax Refund

Non-highway use refund for gas used in your boat. Texas gas tax is 20 cents per gallon, so save your reciepts for a year, fill out the form, and mail it in.
I average 300 gallons a year and get about $80.00 back......
Forms for reporting Texas franchise tax to the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts.

I got back $140 last year. You have to have receipts and they must have the address of the gas station on them.

I save all my receipts and write off the sales tax from every receipt. You'd be surprised how much you can get back!

I adds up so save those receipts!

Funny ... I crewed on a few offshore boats and we all split the costs like fuel and such ... we could suck down 200 gallons easy. So we gave the captain cash and he put the fuel on the credit card and saved all those receipts, maybe a dozen or so a year. He got the money in the mail like clockwork, a bunch of it (or most of it, they do dicker with ya). I never had a problem because the capt. had to pay for additive like Stabil, service the engine every year, and so forth. Any "offroad" use is good, even lawnmower and ATV fuel. If it goes in the car or truck, it don't count unless you're a farmer.
