See... I'm there EVERY weekend working on the Galveston House and the weather has been pretty funky lately but like Sunday... Jsut as I'm pulling out to go back the weather got BEAUTIFUL!
Anyway, the weekend before I did get out and Christen my new boat with 6 trout. To make it special all 6 of them got to go free as a tribute to the new sled. The next ones betta watch out though cause I'm headed up towards Oyster, Alligator and SLP in the next few weeks and there coming home
For surf trout this N. wind flattened surf is deceiving.... Better to wait for a flat surf from a few days of low SE wind later on in the summer.
However if you don't mind soaking dead shrimp for drum, reds, and sheephead... its great. Not too many bait stealers this early too. In fact that's just what I'm about to go and do!

one nice red, something broke my hook in half, but it was a big *** fish or at least it was fighting like one. also caught a nice sheephead. also caught a soaked camera and wallet. damn pelican box.
Got out to the ramp at SLP today at about 3:45 to meet Lurefisher, dbarham, and 007. They had made 3 loads of materials out to the camp when I got there. Talk about a beautiful day. Alas the tide had just ebbed and though we tried for a short time, no fish were caught. Sure was beautiful out there though.
From 1970-1997, true heaven on Earth existed on the banks of Bayou Cook. "Hey Dad, Thanks for buying the Camp."
As everyone knows by now it was a nice afternoon. Kylie and I fished the surf but it wasn't as fast action as it was last week. Maybe because the front was still coming through (last time we went the wind had just turned to the S... this time it was still light N.) Trash fish were much thicker but Kylie managed two sheepies and a great upper-slot red. I had two keeper drum and the real trophy of the day... FOOT+ PIGGY PERCH!
Behold!
Bummer about the camera.... Diggin my new waterproof one though
Dang it, again! Sure glad y'all got out there and had a few pulls. That is the biggest piggy I've ever seen, and yes that is one pretty red! Thanks for keeping the dream alive for us folks stuck at work all day......
