Trolling motor-$200, battery-$80. 1 1/2 " wooden dowel from HD or Lowes works fine as a poor man's push pole-best to paint over it w/ fiberglass resin but not absolutely necessary. I have one for my Pond prowler-use it all the time (16').

I usually drift fish so I can cover some ground, and only use a pole for a minor push or to get into deep water to put the engine down and fire it up.

Plus, I came down with several bacteria infections from wading the bays. I don't think it was vibrio but it sure tore me up, was taking massive doses of antibiotics. It's just me, but being an old fart who drinks a bunch, I ain't pushing my luck.

So I let the guys off to wade fish and I'll drift off so the boat doesn't mess up their fishing. Works out good, and I'll check 'em every hour or so to see if they want to unload some fish and have a co' beer.

"Hey Hillary, regarding the Benghazi Attack on 9/11-we'll just blame it on that movie, not my total lack of security. By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. Can y'all send me a link to the trolling motor? Would I need to get it wired by a mechanic (through the hull, or neatly on the outside?)? Thanks.
