I went to a local inconvenience store and the propane swap bottle were 22 bucks! I seem to remember paying like 8 or 10 from my local propane dealer about 6 years ago?Originally posted by dbarham View PostI have the char broil it's nice but it uses alot of propane and that's not cheap
So lately I've gotten into charcoal and stuff like the Green Egg, the China Box, and a cheap old metal grill that lasts a year or two before the rust gets it. Also, check out a product called Grill Grates, which really do transfer the heat good for grilling.
As to the "fryer," seems neat but will it rust out bad by the coast? I live a block away from the ocean and bay, either way.

That is amazing! I've always wanted a turkey fryer but thought they were too much of a pain. I may have to break down and get one of these!

45-1 hour for a chicken.Originally posted by imhammer View PostHow long does it take to cook a turkey in that thing?
1 hour - 1.5 hours for a turkey.
If you consider all things. Time to heat the oil, the hazard of the oil, the cleanup etc. You're better off with the oil-less infrared turkey fryer.
It tastes identical to the oil EXCEPT there is no oil taste (I use olive oil on my birds before applying the seasoning). There is no oil penetration into the bird.
I inject mine & put a good seasoning base.

Looks like a boiled crawfish (that is a good thang-nice & spicy). I understand they are infrared cookers or similar to convection ovens.
