Pretty cool video thanks for sharing.
Back in the day the TP&W would go out way deep and troll a white surfboard about 100 yards from the boat. They would use it basically as a top water for locating the bigger sharks that would get aggressive and tear it up. It would always have a white bottom so that it looks like a seal belly and is easily visible in the water. You can youtube those videos BTW.
It's not uncommon at all to get bumped by bigger fish/sharks on a surfboard. It's happened to me multiple times when surfing the flagship and especially surfside. The sharks get nasty up around the pass and have seen them trail me more time than I can count.
