  • Presidential Gulf Coast Taskforce

Just heard about this on Capt. Mickey's show. The report is 112 pages long. I've only made it to page 10, where I saw the following paragraph that got my attention.

" Loss and degradation of coastal estuarine habitat.
The estuaries and coastal systems of the Gulf Coast—such as Mobile Bay, Apalachicola Bay, Galveston Bay, Tampa Bay, Florida Bay, the Mississippi Sound, Barataria Bay and others—provide the nursery habitat for most of the fishery resources in the Gulf, and support a nationally important oyster industry. These estuaries are impacted by a variety of stressors, including pollution, coastal development, energy development, erosion, hydrological alteration, changes in freshwater inflow, structural marsh management and overfishing.

I say fark the Feds and fark the EPA!

Page 31 & 32 are interesting, they cover seagrass & prop scarring. Remember, this is just the framework for this EPA plan.

"........including incorporating ecosystem restoration into shoreline stabilization efforts through the use of “living shorelines”.

Kenny I read that as planting of seagrass and reef ball projects similar to what Galveston Bay Foundation is doing at their events.

With all due respect Coe, the GBF is a private organization not the federal government. All the government wants is more restrictive regulation and more control.
You have to understand that this 112 page document is an outline, with the "meat" of the regulations filled in later. Of course they're couching it in benign language.

I haven't read it nor wish to get into any type of debate about the federal government sticking their nose into more areas where they don't belong.

I agree the TP&W has been a example that other states have tryed to duplicate and the feds should leave well enough alone.

Kenny: You are 100% correct on this-Obama made this w/o input from fishermen or States-it is another "grab" by him and the Enviroterrorists to implement regs over and above states' rights. Another reason to Vote A.B.O.-that POS POTUS must go.
"Hey Hillary, regarding the Benghazi Attack on 9/11-we'll just blame it on that movie, not my total lack of security. By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. BEAUTIFY AMERICA, RUN OVER A LIBERAL, THEN BACK UP AND SEE IF HE'S DEAD.
