  • Need High Printer advice.

Im tired of buying MFC (multi function Copiers) monochrome laser printers all the time because the Fusers and Laser units giving out. One of our Brother MFC 8680DNs just met its lifetime end (unless I want to buy 600 in parts).

Can anyone help me with selection?
Here are the stats from 1 year on just this machine:
    Total: 100,926
    FAX/LIST 35,009
    COPY: 66,962
    PRINT: 3,955

    Over 12 months, we avg 8400/mo, 280pgs a day.

Ive been spending a C$%%$ load of money on toners/drums (even though we use cartridge world)

Duty cycle specs and toner yield #s are dodgy (our high yield toner says 9K prints @ 5% coverage and we get A LOT less than that per toner)

    NEED: Fax,copy,print, scan

Would like to have a printer that has replacement toners that yield 15,000 and a HIGH DUTY CYCLE.

About duty cycles: I dont understand why companies say their monthly duty cycle is 40K/mo but in fine line say (maximum recommended copies: 3,500)... irritating.

This is prob a boring read, but I need HELP!

    Thanks!

also: not looking for the cheap stuff... already gone that route and now have 1 dead MFC and 6 others that are at 2-5% life left in em. I'd rather get nice stuff that will have lower TCO (total cost of ownership) and will last a couple years than buy new ones every 10-12 months. Thanks gain!

check into a Konica Minolta C53--we use it at our office and I've used it at others-we don't fax with it but I think you can-copy/scan/print, but can email all over with it (but it's easier to scan to my computer and then forward the scan via email). Aint cheap and have no idea what annual costs are. Good color also.

We lease an Oce, it works pretty good and have been using it for 3 years with 3 toner catrages replaced and 1 repair. 38k copies per month - I don't do the accounting.

We lease ours at C&W. We average 250/pages an hour over here

We bought the Konica and pay a maintenance/service fee annually.
