One of our very own here, Primer, is a high school senior this year. Some of you may remember that last year he raised a pig for a school show and he did just fine all by himself. This year, he’s hoping to raise a pig to show at the County Fair. With this being his senior year, lets all pitch in and make it a great one. Lurefisher (Deano) has already generously offered to put up the dough to buy a piglet and pay for the pen fee. Being a boy from the suburbs myself, I don’t know what else is necessary to raise a pig, but I know he’ll need a LOT of feed and a LOT of bedding. Our goal for this fundraiser is about $1000, a little more couldn’t hurt.
If you don’t know Primer (Austin Buchanan), I’m going to take a moment to brag on this young man. I’m a teacher myself, and it’s rare in my line of business that you find a kid with his head screwed on as straight as his. He keeps out of trouble the way we wish all youngsters would, by spending his spare time outdoors fishing. He takes a lot of pride in his old Chevy truck, wears his jeans so his underwear don’t show, and says “Yes Sir” and “No Sir”. His knives are always sharp and he has a genuine interest in helping others out, without expecting anything in return. In short, he’s the kind of kid I think we’d all be proud to call our own son.
Buoy37 (Jason) has already offered to be the treasurer for this venture. He can take your Paypal donation and he has generously offered to pay all the Paypal fees so that Primer gets the entire donation amount. If, like myself you don’t do Paypal, you can also send a check and Buoy doesn’t have to worry about the fees. Every little donation will get us closer to our goal of helping a fine young man raise a prize winning porker.
