I am curious to see what you guys think a reasonable price and delivery would be for :

    Troubleshooting
Carb kit / clean / rebuild
    Water Pump Kit and Replace

    for a Yamaha 50 HP ( 3 carbs ) .

I got mine back and I wanna see where this shop came in.

GregR1971 would have done it for half of the labor.
I work just enough to pay for my fishing habit.

Based on my experience with Boat Mechanics, all in all to have the 3 carbs rebuilt (and not just cleaned) and a water pump Kit done (and not just impeller), my wild azz GUESS is about $400 up.

What do I win???? Oh boy oh boy!!!

About 3 hours???? Maybe 4?? I don't recall any bill from any places I've taken my boats to be under $400-arrrggghhh. Pump an hour at most and 2 hours for carbs-I aint no mechanic-just have paid them a lot over last 25 years! Mechanics are billed at $95-120/hour nowadays at most shops -correct me if I'm wrong. And those items are book charges-if someone had electrical issue-whoa sheeit-that can get fugly fast.

What'd I win? If I win your bill, please keep it-I got plenty of my own! I look at it like this: if it runs and is reasonable and in ballpark of others and done right (I HATE taking a boat back for shoddy work), I'm happy.

What about Evans (WWBD) or GregR say? They gotta be able to give a dang close answer based on REAL knowledge instead of a guess from another boat owner?-I'm curious.

I ordered 3 carb kits for a 70hp yamaha $111.00. I pulled the carbs and my wife cleaned and install the kits. Easy job if your wife helps.

You got a good one there Booyah!

Just my guess, but given the price of the parts from Booyah, Gregr1971 would have probably billed about $250 max. Again, just my guess. He does great work at VERY low cost. Don't see him around here much. I'd PM him if I were you. I know I'm an EXTREMELY happy customer of his.

I just took mine to a large Corporate shop around Pearland and spent an astronomical amount, (4 times what y'all are estimating) Mind you there were some issues. Boat had been in garage for 7 years along with some electrical issues.
But to their credit, after I picked it up and took the re-Maiden voyage and it bogged down after a 1/2 mile on plane, they worked on it another week, pulled the powerhead off again to check on something, the mechanic (not the manager) called me with daily updates, took it to the water 3 times to test and didn't charge anything for the 2nd go round. So, even though I feel gutted at the price of boat maintenance, I am happy with the work that was done, knowing that my abuse (ignoring it for 7yrs) was my own fault and it's time to pay the fiddler.
I guess I'm trying to say that everything has gone up and we need good budgeting to keep our pastime going.

I am on an important project now to teach my wife how to make rods, I have told her that she should learn every aspect of fishing before she goes out on the boat with me. I told her I will sell them for her and she can make as much as $40 each for her work. (She has never been inside a tackle store and is clueless) Maybe I can get enough to get a PowerPole before she finds out ? ☺ Damn I'm bad...

I would say $5-600 if everything went as planned. Gotta love the parts that break trying to fix the broken part.....

I called fora price on getting a carb job done at the shop and it was high. The cost for parts was 3 times higher than the on-line price. I have never did a carb job before but it turned out to be very easy.
