  • Question on damage rod

I have a 6'6" all star moderate medium, that about an 1" of the tip broke off. So I was wondering if I could put a tip at the end and fishing worn it. Oi

huh? if you bought it from Academy, they would probably exchange it. I would go that route.

Heat the old tip base with a lighter and pull off the old tip (use a glove) That should fit, but you may have to sand it slightly. Test fit then heat the tip again and shove it back on. Sometimes you have to use a drop of hot glue.

Then you broke off more than an inch. If the close guides bother you, take the whole thing to Serious Tackle in LaMarque and they'll move the second eye a little and replace the tip for about $10!

I believe they do. Not sure, maybe another member can chime in. But I've always heard if you buy an all-star rod from academy they'll replace it free no questions asked.
Yeah, and all the muchachas they call me big pappa, when I throw pesos their way!

If it's the houston tx. All stars I would fix it over replace for the Chinese version.
75% Saltwater 5% led 20 % soft plastic 99% Alcohol 500% Fish stories = the make up of an angler.

You have a point, I did buy the rod before all star got bougth out.i guess I can try out a 6'3" ill still make a good wader rod. I normally take my rods to FTU. Ill give serious tackle a call to see what they can do. Thanks

If the action is messed up my guess at 6 '3. Make it a flounder jiggin stick or something. But make sure it is the American one should say Houston tx. On it.

So I finally had time to go to academy, I was able to get the rod replaced with no problem. I actually end up getting a 7' versus the 6'6" I had.
